Nathan Walker is attempting to become the first Australian to play in the NHL and his dream has come just the little bit closer today has he has been signed by the Washington Capitals farm team the Hersey Bears for a one year contract.
#Caps General Manager George McPhee told those at his panel discussion Nathan Walker has signed a one-year AHL deal with Hershey.

Due to silly rules in the NHL the Washington Capitals are unable to sign Australia's Nathan Walker to a Entry Level Contract but have shown great interest in him thus why they have signed him with Hersey.
Walker will be eligible for the 2014 Entry Level Drafts where any team could snatch him up. However if he is undrafted he will then be open to any Entry Level Contract from any team.
The Washington Capitals are doing everything they can to try and keep the young aussie on their lineup but only time will tell if he stays in the Capitals organization or move to another team.
There's nothing Nathan can do now the 2014 Drafts will be a very exciting moment for both Nathan and the Washington Capitals.
